After starting at Naturepedic, I’ve been on a mission to clean up my home life one segment at a time. One-third of my life was cleaned up instantly when we got our Naturepedic EOS organic mattress. But the other daily items that touch my skin or my food took a little more time and energy. Household cleaning products were a mere switch of a shelf at the store… but personal care items? I really had to focus, do some research and talk to friends and peers.
Some things – like shampoo – were quick and easy. But convenience items, like makeup removing wipes? Not so much. I liked some conventional brands but I wanted the wipes with products I trusted. In the meantime, a friend of the family shared her at-home recipe for facial cleansing wipes. I know what’s in them, they’re reusable and easy? Win-win!
In lieu of a step by step, here’s my video of how I made them and how well they work. Starring my son, B.
Recipe:
1 large glass jar
10 baby washcloths
Water – ¾ cup distilled or boiled
Castile Soap – 1 Tbsp (Liquid recommended, or grate as finely as possible and dissolve in water)
Witch Hazel (1/2 cup for summer, ¼ cup for winter recommended)
Nourishing Oil – 1 Tbsp
What I Used:
Organic Cotton Washcloths from Cherub’s Blanket
Earth Mama Angel Baby Castile Soap
Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve Facial Oils
More Products in the Video:
Baby Carrier, Organic by Lille Baby
Baby’s Jammies, egg by susan lazar/sprout
Easy, right? What brands will you choose to make your wipes?
