Healthy Child Healthy World (HCHW), formerly the Children’s Health Environmental Coalition (CHEC), a nationally recognized non-profit organization, is dedicated to educating the public regarding environmental toxins that can affect children’s health. A lack of clear health information necessitates a precautionary approach to chemical exposure and toxins.

Scientific and medical literature increasingly demonstrates that many of the chemicals commonly found in crib mattresses should be avoided as much as possible, especially for babies and children.

Nearly all baby mattresses today contain polyurethane foam, vinyl (PVC), phthalates, chemical fire retardants, and an extensive list of added industrial chemicals. Some of these chemicals have been shown to leach out into the surrounding air. HCHW encourages you to support the effort of making long term environmental health a national priority. HCHW’s educational programs and public health measures regarding the dangers of toxic chemicals will greatly improve the health of our children, while saving the nation billions in health care costs.
