 Do I need a foundation?
The mattress can be used with or without a foundation, so long as a flat surface lies beneath the mattress. Slats are generally acceptable unless they are spaced
more than a couple inches apart (in which case a waviness can develop in the mattress over time). In most juvenile applications, a foundation
is not needed as bunk beds and platform beds already provide decent support. Unless used with a bed frame or furniture piece that demands it, a foundation is
not necessarily required (consult with your furniture manufacturer).
