  Waterproof protector pads add absorptive qualities and make it easy to change the bed. Just throw the pad in the wash and you're done! They also creates an impenetrable barrier to dust mites and other allergens along the top of the mattress.

  Non-waterproof protector pads are typically only used with a waterproof mattress (such as the Naturepedic ultra or 2in1). They offer excellent absorptive qualities but no waterproof protection. In the event of an accident or spill, the mattress will likely need to be cleaned.
