How Endocrine Disruptors Impact Women

We met Dr. Eva Martin and quickly related to her passion for health, education, and safety. She’s the founder of Elm Tree Medical, Inc., which focuses on women’s health, and she had a lot to tell us about the impact endocrine disruptors have on women and babies. We reached out to Eva with a few questions to get her professional opinion about these chemicals and how to avoid them in daily life. What is an endocrine disruptor? Simply, an endocrine disruptor is a chemical that interferes with a hormone’s action. One example is the EDC diethystilbestrol (DES). DES was prescribed to women to control nausea during pregnancy, but, unfortunately, the world later learned that DES interferes with key hormone actions in gestation, and led to serious birth defects. Ask Naturepedic: Which Organic Pillow is Right for Me?

We offer a variety of organic pillows to suit your needs, with varying levels of comfort and support. With all these options, sometimes people ask us for some help deciding which pillow is right for them! This blog post will provide a guide to our different organic pillows and accessories that provide Safe Healthy Sleep™ for adults and children. Organic Cotton/Non-GMO PLA Pillow Great for children and adults, our organic cotton/PLA pillow is light, soft and resilient. It has low-medium loft, which is the pillow’s height on the bed. A medium or low loft pillow is ideal for back sleepers so that your neck doesn’t roll uncomfortably toward your chest with a higher, fluffier pillow. It’s also good for stomach sleepers to maintain a healthier postural alignment while you sleep. Again, a high loft pillow might leave you with a sore neck. The PLA pillow comes in a Junior size for toddlers and kids, as well as Standard, Standard Low-Fill[…]

You can customize your experience with toppers or different pillows, but sometimes couples just sleep differently, making the search for the perfect mattress more difficult. We checked in with three couples to learn about those differences that can make finding the ideal mattress a little more challenging. Read on to hear from Rose, Audrey, and Beth about their family’s sleep habits and their solutions for a better night’s sleep. 1. Rose and Matthew have a preschooler, a kindergartner, and a puppy at home. 2. Audrey and Tom have a preschooler, a baby, and two dogs. 3. Beth and John have six cats and no kids (yet). First, we asked about general bedtime routines. Do you and your partner go to bed at the same time? Audrey and Rose both said no, while[…]
