Rated 4 out of 5 by from Aaah sleep I purchased an organic mattress from a company that didn't supply a base for my type of bed. Thankfully my internet search came up with the Naturepedic Organic Mattress Foundation that is a perfect match for my mattress. Loving the combination

I read you don’t recommend putting your mattresses directly on the floor but if I put your foundation down under the mattress on a carpeted floor, will that be okay? I’m wanting it to be low so my toddler won’t hurt herself if she falls out of bed.

Asked by: Kellyd
Thanks for asking about our foundations. The issue with putting a mattress directly on the floor is that there's no airflow and it may lead to moisture and mold long term. If you place your foundation on the floor, your mattress will still have airflow. We also offer low profile 2" foundations if you want to consider a lower foundation with a bed frame.

Can this be used as a mattress? I’m putting my twins (2 years) in bunk beds so will this work as a mattress?

Asked by: Cyndie
Hi Cyndie, thanks for asking about our Organic Cotton Deluxe Foundations. Our foundations are designed to support the weight of a mattress but are not to be used as a replacement for a mattress. We offer trundle size kids mattresses if you need a shorter mattress to fit a bunk bed! Feel free to call customer service if you have any questions about our kids mattresses at 800-917-3342.

How wide should each slat be? I know the gap should be 2-3inches, but how wide should the slats be?

Asked by: Hamdya
Thanks for asking about our foundations. Most platform bed slats have a standard size of roughly 2" wide, but the important factor is the space between. As long as the space between slats or bars is around 2" any size slat or bar should be effective.

Can two twin beds be used for a king mattress foundation?

Asked by: MattressShopper
Thank you for asking about the Organic Cotton Deluxe Foundation. You can use two foundations under a King mattress (referred to as a split King). However, the size would be a Twin XL (extra long) which is 5” longer than a standard twin. If you use a standard twin size foundation, the end of the mattress will hang over the foundation which could cause you to void a mattress warranty. Additionally, it could be dangerous to sit on the end of the mattress without the foundation under it to provide support.

What is the difference between the sizes? Is it just how tall you want your bed to be or is their a benefit to a larger foundation comfort/sleep-wise?

Asked by: mrkwl
Thank you for asking about our Naturepedic Foundations. We offer foundations in several sizes for convenient bed heights. For example, our bunkie board size is often used with bunk beds. There is no additional comfort benefit to different foundation sizes.

Only the luxury line of mattresses can be used with a platform frame rather than a foundation or all of your mattresses?

Asked by: Lindsey
Thanks for asking about our Organic Cotton Deluxe Foundation. All of our mattresses can be used with a platform frame, as long as the slats are no more than 2” apart.
