Our “Farm to Bed” philosophy is our way of tracing the path of our certified organic cotton fill from the fields where it's cultivated, to the factories where it's transformed, to your bedroom where you rest. Along the way, we make choices that protect your health, preserve ecosystems and support the people behind every step. Knowing where your mattress comes from – and how it was made – matters. Take the journey with us here.

Organic vs. Conventional Farming

ORGANIC
• Grown without synthetic pesticides
• Promotes soil health and biodiversity
• Supports safe, fair working conditions
• Certified to organic standards (like GOTS)
• Farmed with regenerative methods
• Supports safe, fair working conditions

CONVENTIONAL
• Treated with synthetic chemicals
• Depletes soil and harms ecosystems
• Linked to unsafe labor practices
• Typically lacks transparency or certification
• Promotes widespread use of GMOs and toxic defoliants
Why Does Cotton Often Get a Bad Rap?
Conventional cotton can use 42 million pounds of pesticides in the U.S. in a single year, including carcinogens, hormone disruptors and PFAS – aka “forever chemicals.”
This makes choosing organic all the more important.
By tracing every fiber back to the farm, we ensure our materials are clean from the start – and we get them third-party certified by trusted organizations to prove it.
Our farmers practice regenerative agriculture, which goes beyond conservation by helping to restore soil, capture carbon, protect water sources and create resilient farms for the future.

When It Comes to Your Bed,
What’s Inside Should Never Be a Mystery
Naturepedic was founded by a first-time grandfather and environmental engineer who couldn’t find a crib mattress made without questionable chemicals. That search became a mission: to prove that we don’t need toxic chemicals to create comfortable homes. Today, we continue that mission by using certified organic cotton and other thoughtfully sourced materials that meet the highest standards for health, transparency and sustainability.
Conventional Mattresses
Polyurethane foam. Fiberglass. Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs). Formaldehyde. Phthalates. Pesticides. Boric acid. Antimony. Vinyl. PVC. Isocyanates. Melamine resin. Decabromodiphenyl Oxide (Deca). Benzene. Lead. Arsenic. Chlorinated Tris (TDCPP). Toxic VOCs. And the list doesn’t end there.
Naturepedic Mattresses
Certified organic cotton. Certified organic wool. GOLS certified latex. Non-GMO sugarcane PLA. Steel coils made in-house from recycled steel.
It’s that simple.

The Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative (TOCMC) is a farmer-owned group that’s been leading the U.S. organic cotton movement since its founding in 1993. Based in Lubbock in the South Plains – the heart of “the world's largest cotton patch” – the co‑op now encompasses around 35–50 family farms planting 17,000–20,000 acres annually, producing some 7,000–17,000 bales of certified organic cotton. TOCMC was honored with the prestigious Organic Farmer of the Year Leadership Award by the Organic Trade Association in recognition of its vital contributions.
