Every Naturepedic mattress passes all government flammability requirements without ANY flame retardant chemicals or barriers. That's right – none at all! This is due to our smart organic mattress design and the elimination of highly flammable synthetics such as polyurethane foam.
NO GLUES OR ADHESIVES
It's really hard to find a mattress without glue. Even "organic mattresses" often contain several pounds of industrial adhesives, especially in their coil systems. NO POLYURETHANE FOAM

How is the 2-in-1 Organic Kids Mattress different from the Verse Organic Kids Mattress?
The Organic 2-in-1 Kids Mattress is perfect for potty-training younger children, while the Verse Organic Kids Mattress works better for older kids. The 2-in-1 features a two-sided design with a comfy, quilted side AND a wipe-clean waterproof side – switching over is as easy as flipping the mattress. The Verse features an upgraded individually encased coil system that is more comfortable for older kids and can support more weight. However, the Verse does not have the waterproof side. The 2-in-1 comes in a lower profile 7", which works better with many bunk beds, as compared to the Verse at 9" thickness. The 2-in-1 is also available in a 6" trundle. Both mattresses are GOTS certified and come with a 100-night trial and a 25-year limited warranty. You can read the full breakdown of the differences in this blog post.
What age is best to transition your child from a crib to a twin mattress?
Children can start using a twin mattress anywhere from about 18 months to three years old. Every child is different, but a couple things to be mindful of include your child’s ability to climb out of the crib and their newfound freedom to get out of bed whenever they want! What is a trundle mattress?
A trundle mattress is a shorter mattress that fits on a rolling platform which slides under a bed. The 2-in-1 Organic Kids Trundle Mattress is only 6" thick, which allows it to slide easily under most trundle beds. Be sure to measure the opening on your trundle bed before purchasing. Some trundle beds only allow for a 71" mattress. We offer the 2-in-1 in a standard 75" length as well as a shorter 71" length, called a "Twin Trundle Short."
Is the 2-in-1 Organic Kids Mattress safe for a bunk bed?
Yes! The 2-in-1 Organic Kids Mattress is perfect for bunk beds. If your bunk bed railing is low, we recommend the trundle size, which is a thinner version of the 2-in-1, to reduce the chance of a fall.
How firm is the 2-in-1 Organic Kids Mattress?
The 2-in-1 is a firm, yet comfortable mattress. Its firmness follows recommendations for kids' developing bones.
Do I need a foundation/box spring with the 2-in-1 Organic Kids Mattress?
No. The purpose of a foundation is to support the mattress above it and to bring the surface of the mattress to a comfortable height. If your bed has a supportive platform at the correct height, a foundation is not needed. If your platform is made of slats, ensure the spacing between slats is no more than 3" apart. Slats spaced too far apart can create grooves in the bottom of the mattress over time.
Do I need a waterproof protector pad if the mattress is already waterproof?
While the waterproof side of the 2-in-1 easily wipes clean, we recommend using an organic waterproof mattress protector pad for convenience. When using the quilted side, we strongly recommend a waterproof pad to protect the mattress from accidents and spills.
