The EOS Trilux replaces coils with three layers of organic latex for a sleep experience that feels consistent from top to bottom. With no spring system, the design is simpler, more streamlined, and focused entirely on the responsive comfort and durable support of latex. Each layer zips neatly inside an organic cotton encasement, allowing you to choose your firmness from extra firm to plush and adjust over time by rearranging or replacing layers on one side or both. It’s a more pure, more flexible design made for long-term comfort.

What are the different configurations for each comfort level?

The latex comfort layers come in three firmness levels: firm, medium, and soft. These are the combinations for each comfort configuration:

“Extra-Firm” = medium latex over firm latex over firm latex

“Firm” = medium latex over medium latex over firm latex

“Cushion-Firm” = soft latex over firm latex over medium latex

“Medium” = soft latex over medium latex over medium latex

“Plush” = soft latex over soft latex over medium latex

What is the ideal firmness for side sleepers?

Side sleepers typically do best with a softer feel like Plush or Medium. These firmness levels allow more give at the shoulders and hips, helping keep the spine aligned while reducing pressure points.

What is the ideal firmness for back or stomach sleepers?

Back and stomach sleepers usually benefit from a firmer feel like Cushion-Firm, Firm, or Extra-Firm. These options provide more support to keep the hips from sinking too deeply, which helps maintain proper spinal alignment throughout the night.

What kind of mattress is best for back pain?

The EOS Trilux can be a good choice for sleepers seeking a supportive, pressure-relieving mattress that helps keep the spine comfortably aligned. Its three latex layers create a consistent, responsive surface that cushions the body without the deep sink of memory foam, while customizable firmness options let you choose the level of support that feels best for your sleep position and comfort needs. While no mattress can guarantee relief from back pain, the EOS Trilux is designed to support healthier sleep posture with durable, all-latex comfort.

How does the layer swap program work?

For the first 100 nights, you can swap layers for free to achieve your perfect feel. (For more details see our layer swap program.) But it doesn't end there. You can purchase new layers for your EOS mattress at any time, even five or 10 years later. While most mattresses only last 7-10 years, the EOS mattress can be refreshed by replacing select components, making your bed feel like new again without the need to buy a new mattress. It’s backed by a 25-year warranty, but you may not ever have to buy a new mattress again.

How does the EOS mattress ship?

All boxes ship via Fedex or UPS ground. Each box weighs between 30-55 lbs, so the components can usually be carried to their final destination by one person.

How is the EOS Trilux different from the EOS Classic or EOS Pillow Top?

The EOS Trilux stands apart from the EOS Classic and EOS Pillow Top in its construction and overall feel. While the Classic and Pillow Top models combine latex with a coil support system, the Trilux is made entirely of latex, using three interchangeable layers for a simpler, more streamlined design. This gives it a more uniform, buoyant feel with consistent support from top to bottom. Like the rest of the EOS collection, it’s fully customizable with swappable layers and split configurations, but the absence of coils makes it a great option for those who prefer an all-latex mattress with a responsive, supportive feel.

Do I need a foundation/box spring with the EOS Trilux Organic Mattress?

If you have a bed that comes with a supportive platform at the correct height, there is no need for a foundation. If your platform is made of slats, please ensure that the spacing between slats is no more than 3 inches apart. Slats that are spaced too far apart can create grooves in the bottom of the mattress over time.

Is latex better than memory foam?

It depends on the feel you prefer, but latex offers several distinct advantages over memory foam. Organic latex has a more responsive, buoyant feel, so it gently contours without the slow sink or “stuck” sensation memory foam can create. It’s also a durable, longer-lasting comfort material and allows Naturepedic to avoid polyurethane foam entirely. Instead, the Trilux is made with certified organic latex layers and no flame retardants, helping to reduce common material concerns associated with conventional foam mattresses.

Does an all-latex mattress sleep hot?

The EOS Trilux is designed to help prevent heat buildup through its materials and construction. Its latex layers are perforated to support airflow, while the organic cotton encasement helps to create a breathable sleep surface. Because latex responds quickly and doesn’t envelop the body like memory foam, many sleepers find it to be more temperature comfortable than a traditional foam mattress.

EOS Trilux Organic Mattress Care Instructions
To keep your EOS in great condition, use a mattress protector to guard against spills and wear. You can rotate it head to foot every 3-6 months to promote even use, or rotate the internal layers as desired (just don't change the order of the layers). Make sure your EOS is placed on a supportive foundation or base, and if your foundation has slats, they should be spaced no more than 3 inches apart. As needed, spot clean with mild detergent and cold water, and avoid soaking or harsh chemicals. You can let the mattress breathe occasionally by pulling back bedding to release moisture, and avoid bending, folding, or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. A light, natural scent from materials like wool or latex is normal at first and will fade over time.
