The Organic Breathable Mini Crib Mattress combines breathability and waterproofing for a safer, healthier and more hygienic design. The mattress starts with a firm, flat waterproof surface made from non-GMO sugarcane that is so pure, it actually meets food contact standards and easily wipes clean. We then add a 3-dimensional cover with a soft organic cotton surface for increased airflow. This unique cover creates a breathable space under the baby which improves temperature regulation and allows the baby to breathe directly through the surface if necessary. The cover also features a waterproof backing that eliminates the need for an additional waterproof pad. No polyurethabe foam or flame retardants whatsoever.

The breathable cover features a soft organic cotton face and a 3-dimensional polyester lattice structure that allows air to flow through the fabric and under the baby for 360° air circulation. Since air is able to pass freely through the cover’s 3D structure, babies can breathe right through it!
practical design
The breathable function is encapsulated in a washable cover that completely hugs the mattress. This removable layer has a waterproof backing that keeps the mattress clean and protected from urine, spit-up, and other messes. In the event of an accident, simply replace with a spare cover or put the baby back to sleep on the fully functional underlying mattress. The cover can then be machine washed and dried at your convenience.

What is a "mini crib"?
A mini crib is a non-full-size crib that is smaller than a standard crib. Standard cribs are approximately 52" x 28" inside dimensions. Mini cribs are typically 24" x 38".
Which mini cribs or brands will this fit?
The Breathable Organic Mini Crib Mattress is designed to fit a standard 24" x 38" mini crib. If the inside dimensions of your mini crib are not 24" x 38", do not use this mattress.
Does this mattress fit a pack and play?
No. This mattress is not designed for a pack and play, even if the dimensions are similar. Most pack and plays require a mattress with a hard bottom.
Is the Breathable Organic Mini Crib Mattress 2-sided?
Yes. Both sides are usable as a sleep surface. You can switch the breathable cover to either side as needed. However, the two sides are the same firmness.
Should I use a sheet with the Naturepedic Breathable Organic Mini Crib Mattress?
We recommend using a sheet with all of our crib mattresses. You can launder your crib sheets without removing the breathable layer, which only needs to be laundered if there is a spill that leaks through the sheet. The breathable layer should be laundered every 1-2 weeks.
What is your return policy?
All Naturepedic mattresses come with a 100-night guarantee. If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason, return it for a full refund.
What is a "breathable crib mattress"?
A mattress that allows your baby to breathe through the surface in case they roll over to be face down. It also makes the mattress more comfortable by allowing airflow between the baby and mattress, which results in a cooler and less sweaty sleep.
How does Naturepedic do breathability differently than everybody else?
Naturepedic breathable baby mattresses come with a breathable layer on the surface of the mattress rather than making the whole mattress breathable all the way through. The breathable layer is removable, machine washable and doubles as a mattress protector since it has a waterproof backing.
Why is the Naturepedic design better than a crib mattress that is breathable all the way through?
Breathable mattresses that allow liquid into the interior are difficult to clean and can grow mold. Some designs suggest rinsing the core in the shower, which is impractical when your baby sleeps every 90 minutes. Plus, those designs often use phosphate flame retardants. Naturepedic’s breathable layer is on the outside of a waterproof, food-grade polyethylene core, so you get breathability, hygiene and certified organic materials.
Is there an official rating for breathable crib mattresses?
Yes. Independent labs test breathability using an air resistance device that simulates face-down breathing. A score below 16 is considered safe. Naturepedic scored a 2 – one of the best results on the market.
Is "organic" or "breathable" more important?
Both matter—but if a baby can breathe into the mattress, organic materials are even more critical. Naturepedic’s organic certification ensures your baby isn’t breathing in harmful chemicals. We’re the only brand with certified organic, breathable and waterproof crib mattresses.
Do I need a waterproof mattress protector?
No. The included breathable cover has a waterproof backing. For convenience, we recommend buying a second breathable organic crib mattress protector to have on hand while one is in the wash.
Will a sheet reduce the breathability of the mattress?
Most standard crib sheets allow for enough airflow. Avoid densely woven or coated fabrics. For optimal airflow, we recommend our Organic Breathable Crib Sheets.
Is the breathable cover included?
Yes. The Breathable Organic Mini Crib Mattress comes with a breathable cover.
Can I buy extra breathable covers?
Yes. You can purchase additional Breathable Organic Mattress Protector Covers.
How firm should a crib mattress be?
The AAP and CPSC recommend a firm, flat sleep surface. If it feels cozy to you, it’s too soft for your baby. Soft mattresses can trap your baby or create suffocation hazards. Firm surfaces provide better movement and safety.
What is the weight limit for the Breathable Organic Mini Crib Mattress?

How is a mini crib different from a bassinet?
Bassinets vary in shape and size, often with soft sides. Mini cribs are usually rectangular with solid sides, measuring 24" x 38". This mattress is made specifically for that size.
