When Do you Need To Replace a Mattress?

When Do you Need a New Mattress

replace a mattress

Not feeling your best when you wake up? Is achieving good sleep becoming harder to do? The remedy could be as simple as it's time to replace your mattress.

When do you know it’s the mattress and not you? We share some tips for deciphering when it’s time to replace a mattress.

Pain While Sleeping

If you are waking up in pain, particularly in the back or neck region, it could be an alignment issue, meaning your mattress isn’t providing the proper support. Before it becomes too big of an issue and you end up in a severe amount of pain, consider if a different mattress and comfort level may be the solution to your problem. We also recommend consulting with your doctor to make sure it is not something more serious.

Excessive Tossing and Turning

We all eventually toss and turn at night. Everything we do and eat during the day has an effect on our sleeping patterns. If you find yourself tossing and turning, it could not only be your routine but your mattress as well. The right mattress will provide you the correct support and pressure point relief that will reduce or completely eliminate tossing and turning.

Age of Mattress

One of the easiest ways to know when you need a new mattress is to look at the warranty. Mattress companies set these for a reason, so investing in a new mattress within that timeframe to avoid more than the usual wear and tear is smart. If not, it could negatively affect your night’s sleep.

Take a Break From Your Bed

If you are unsure if you are experiencing discomfort or poor sleep because you are due to replace your mattress, try sleeping on a different mattress for a few days if possible. If you still have the same issues, it could mean you need to adjust your lifestyle. If you don’t, it may be time to replace your mattress!
